Leah Lucy: anyone who finds something can put it up there, then if they or someone else likes what they see they can sketch an elaboration
Taylor: That “Sid” (“Thid”) is kind of amazing. 🤣
Leah Lucy: that's the one I've done, thank you

Deseret Manufacturing - Table Saw
I was at the Table Saw today making grooves in sides of drawers for them to fit together at assembly. I'd just gotten back from lunch and wanted to film before there was anyone else around, that's why I forgot my headphones weren't on yet lol
By the end I'd done these and more |
The vat at the end of the vacuum system tat fills up with sawdust and dumps into a truck once a week, where it then goes to another factory that turns it into firestarter pucks. |

First Week at Deseret Manufacturing and Jordan River Temple
I'm in neurodivergent heaven- loud noises so nobody's trying to talk to me, repetitive, routine stuff that's still challenging enough to keep my concentration, schedule flexibility, it's wonderful.
the best part is the trust/responsibility they give me, they seriously ran me through this process a total of twice yesterday and then set me loose. on this astronomically expensive CNC and other equipment. it's indescribably great not being hovered over or knowing I'm being directly observed by authorities or anything. they just.. trust me, as they should, and that's all. it's wonderful
The Mill at Deseret Manufacturing - working with the CNC (computer numerical controlled)
machine and palm sander making headboards for twin beds and bunk beds.
Working in the Mill is a dusty job :-) |
First shift at the Jordan River Temple: Baptistry! There are 5 rotations in 4 hours, including handing out towels and clothing. The other workers are so nice.
